John McCutcheon performs with BluemontThe phenomenal John McCutcheon is known around the world as a powerful folksinger, songwriter, storyteller, and master of the hammer dulcimer, guitar, banjo, fiddle, autoharp, mountain dulcimer and jew harp.

McCutcheon began his music career when he picked up a banjo and left school to study under some of the greats of traditional Southern music. Over the years, McCutcheon developed his own rich blend of traditional music and original vision. A California reviewer describes McCutcheon as having "the pithy insight of Will Rogers, the understated delivery of Garrison Keillor, the song leading ability of Pete Seeger, and the virtuosity of an orchestra, John McCutcheon is a national folk treasure!" His classic Christmas in the Trenches has often been called "the greatest anti-war song ever written" and was the subject of a nationally televised documentary. People of all ages from around the world love McCutcheon for his virtuoso performance, his empathy, his wit, and his ability to touch anyone who hears him.
