A collaboration between actor and visual artist Kevin Reese and playwright Mary Hall Surface, "A Perfect Balance" is a theatrical interpretation of artist Alexander Calder's journey from two dimensional art toward an exciting new form of kinetic sculpture: the mobile.
The principle of balance is a rich source of artistic, musical, and mathematical concepts. The play includes the music of Calder-era contemporaries Eric Satie, George Gershwin and Claude Debussy and the workshop creates opportunities for student participation.
A Perfect Balance (preK - Adult) Kevin Reese presents artist Alexander Calder's invention of the mobile in a theatrical production that combines movement, music, visual art, and storytelling. A question-and-answer period is included in the program. |
