The Organic Storyteller: Dr. Gail Neary Herman, the "Organic Storyteller," uses sound effects, mime, movement and song to present stories and folktales from around the world including Thailand, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Africa, China, and Taiwan. By encouraging students to add to stories as she tells them, their minds begin working and inventing. In addition to school assembly presentations, Dr. Herman offers workshops in storytelling, mime, and writing of family stories and tall tales. She also performs workshops in movement exploration and energy in the visual arts by relating art and sound to movement. Her new audio was a finalist for The
Audies this year and was awarded a Parents Choice Silver award.
