Focusing on nature, cooperation and problem solving, the Goodlife Theatre brings to schools wondrous sets and magical presentations to delight audiences of all ages.

BackPack Puppets (preK-1) A high energy one man production that includes music, a variety of puppets, and an engaging story about a mischievous monkey who loses all the colors in the rainbow. Common sense and magic save the day in a program that is highly interactive.

Granny's Appalachian Tales (K-6) Using puppetry (hand, rod and shadow puppets), live music and actors, this program brings to life an Appalachian Jack Tale, "The Three Feathers;" the African-American legend of John Henry, and the Cherokee tale "How the Milky Way Came to Be." Interwoven with these tales is a historic perspective of the people and cultural changes unique to Appalachia. The storyteller is a life size Granny puppet whose mountain cabin transforms into an imaginative puppet stage.

Lula's Let's Make A Circus (K-6) is a lively comedy show under the Big Top that features unicycling, magic, music, and merriment. Students step into the ring and help Lula juggle and balance boxes, hats, and feathers. Workshops in mask making, creative movement, dramatic arts and circus skills are also available.

Tanka Tales (K-6) presents three Native American stories through the art of puppetry and masks. "Loo Wit the Firekeeper" is a dramatic reminder that nature's beauty is for sharing. "How Summer Defeats Winter" is the story of Glooskap, who enlists the help of mythic figures and the audience to overcome the powerful chief, Winter, and restore balance to the world. A story within this story, "How Grandmother Spider Stole the Sun," is portrayed with shadow puppets.
