James Scott, a.k.a. The LOUD Poetry Guy, brings to schools his charm, wit, and fast paced LOUD poetry and short stories. James excites his audiences while impressing them with the fun and creativity of poetry as an art form. All the poetry books will be checked out of the library after a performance, as students are encouraged to find their own poems and stories to read aloud. With a frantic mixture of odd voices, changes of pace and kid related anecdotes, the audience is led through both well known, unknown, and original poems and stories.
School assembly programs are varied according to audience age level and infused with an energetic sense of humor. Also the author of a successful self-published book "Louder," Mr. Scott can include question and answer sessions on publishing original works for upper grades.
Poetry Writing Workshops are also available as classroom sessions that cover a unique three-step approach to writing poetry.
Educator seminars and workshops in writing and reading that stress "The Importance of Reading Aloud to Children" are available for teachers and administrators.
An evening performance following a day of school presentations is a wonderful opportunity for parents to hear first hand the work of the author and to experience LOUD Poetry.
